And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us (Acts 26-27).

These verses have slapped me in the face.

I have many times given thanks to God Almighty that I was born in the United States during this time in history. I have not done that during these stressing, trying times called 2020.

But, as Paul told the Athenians centuries ago, God has placed us on this earth exactly where and when He wants us.

The reason we are living where we are and in the time period we are is so that we should seek God, and perhaps feel our way toward him and find him.

Before we meet Jesus, we are groping in the dark. God put eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11) so we know deep down in our souls there is more to life than groping in the dark. So, God in his Providence establishes our boundaries, our circumstances, and draws us to his Son.

Our path to Jesus was laid out before creation happened.

Now, let me put in a disclaimer here. I am a white woman living in the United States of America. I know I am blessed beyond measure by my allotted period and boundaries and God will hold me accountable for my stewardship of those two privileges. But, I had to feel my way toward Jesus, just like every believer has had and will have to do.

Every believer’s circumstances are tailor made to bring about their salvation. Whatever your circumstances they are for your ultimate good – the salvation of your soul.

I just can’t get over this. I know there are believers being hunted down and killed for their faith while I sit here typing on my privileged 12 year old Samsung laptop.

My tears won’t stop. My gratefulness won’t stop. May my prayers for you dear sisters not stop.

You are loved!
